A private alternative to Goodreads
Goodreads and StoryGraph are built around community: reviews, challenges, what your friends are reading. If what you actually want is a personal record of what you read and how good it really was, RateTheThings is the quiet version. Your book list lives in your browser, works offline as a PWA, and never touches a server unless you opt into the free cloud backup.
Moving over is painless: Goodreads exports your whole library as CSV, and the import maps its columns to your fields in a minute. From there, pairwise duels ("which book was better?") refine your all-time ranking one gut call at a time, and tier lists give you a clean S-D share card when someone asks for recommendations.

Can I import my Goodreads library?
Yes. Goodreads lets you export your library as CSV, and the CSV import with column mapping brings in titles, authors, ratings, and dates.
How is this different from Goodreads or StoryGraph?
Those are social reading networks with one rating per book. RateTheThings is private by default: it scores story, writing, and characters separately with your own weights, refines the order with head-to-head picks, and keeps everything on your device.
Is the book tracker free?
Yes. Lists, ratings, ranking, tiers, stats, and Wrapped are all free with no limits, and no account is required.
Where is my reading data stored?
Locally, in your browser's IndexedDB. Nothing is sent to a server unless you sign in and turn on the optional free cloud backup.
